This online system is intended for starting water, sewer, and refuse services with a notice of three days or more. If you need service within two business days of today, you must call our office at 972-941-7105. For other utility services, please contact the appropriate company.

Please read the information below regarding starting your new residential account.

  • There is a service fee of $15 to begin service. This will be billed on your first month’s bill.
  • New Residential customers must also pay a service deposit in the amount of $50.00. The service deposit will be credited to your account after you have established 24 months of good payment history. If termination is requested prior to 24 months of service, the deposit is applied to the final bill. We do not pay interest on service deposits.
  • Customers that are over age 65 and reside at the current service address are eligible for waiver of the deposit. Proof of age can be sent to us by mail or fax.

  • It can take up to 6 weeks to receive your first bill. If you do not receive a bill, please contact the office at 972-941-7105. You will be responsible for payment for the services.
  • Someone must be at home on the day of connection to ensure all water is off and there are no leaks inside the structure.
  • If no one can be home to connect the service, you may sign a release of liability at our office, or one can be faxed to you, that must be notarized to allow us to turn water on. Field Personnel will monitor the meter for a period of five minutes, if water continues to flow after that time, it will be turned off. An additional fee of $15-$20 will be charged for each return trip necessary to connect service.
  • Water connections are scheduled for completion between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon. If you need to change the date for service, you must contact us in advance at 972-941-7105 at least one business day in advance. Missed appointments will be assessed an additional $15-$20 charge.
  • Should you need to change your "Service Start Date," there will be a $10 administrative fee.
  • The City of Plano bills every month. Please pay special attention to the due dates as we assess a late payment charge after the due date, if payment is not received.
  • A new customer hand book containing good to know information about the City of Plano and city services will be delivered to your door by the Field Representative at the time of connection.
  • The services billed for are Water, Sewer, Trash Collection, Storm Drainage and any additional city services you may request. Click here to view applicable rates.
  • To keep your personal information confidential, you must complete and sign a request form. Click here to access the form or one will be delivered with your new customer handbook. The form must be returned within ten days of connection to ensure no information is released.
  • Contact the Environmental Waste Services Department at 972-769-4150 for information regarding collection days for your address.
